Rene Hamilton is a science fiction and fantasy author who loves writing about everyday people thrust into extraordinary situations. His debut novel, Scavengers—coming Fall 2026—follows a spaceship crew as they uncover secrets among the wreckage of a war-torn fleet. Secrets that could upend everything they know about the galaxy… and themselves.

Rene grew up surrounded by hundreds of sci-fi and fantasy novels—books his father devoured. Ironically, he never read a single one. Instead, he gravitated toward the stories told through video games and anime. To him, a story is a story, no matter the format. Only in his late teens did he finally find his way to fantasy literature. He still hasn’t read any of the books on his father’s shelf though.

Engineer by day. Writer…when he can steal a few moments. When not doing either of those things, he’s training to run a sub-20-minute 5K, lifting heavy things for reps of 12 and sets of 4, or occasionally hiking just to clear his head. He also loves going to the movie theater to watch the latest releases.

One day, after accomplishing his writing goals, Rene hopes to dive into concept art and create his own manga.
